Political News by McLaren’s Government Relations TeamHello! We are heading into a new fiscal year starting in October for state government. The budget was officially signed in July, which provided both the legislature and the Governor with ample amount of time during the summer to leave Lansing and hit the doors for what is turning out to be a unique campaign cycle.
Political News by McLaren’s Government Relations TeamA long night of refreshing county, state, and FREEP election pages and a race in need of a recalculation but for the most part we have November candidates. The Lansing bubble rumored a great deal of upsets that frankly did not happen but with over 60 primaries to watch this year due to district line changes, there are a few races worth noting.
Political News by McLaren’s Government Relations TeamWelcome back to Hospital & Politics. Periodically, your Government Relations team will provide updates regarding Lansing and Washington D.C. hospital related news. In this issue our focus is on the health care supplemental that was signed into law by Governor Whitmer in February. As of current, the department is still shifting through getting funds out the door. However, we look forward to seeing the benefits this health care supplemental has for hospitals, nursing homes, and the general health of our Michiganders.
Political News by McLaren’s Government Relations TeamHappy week after the Super Bowl. If you were rooting for Matthew Stafford, I hope the game was everything you dreamed of and more (minus the Lions). Also, if you don’t know, his wife, Kelly, hosts a podcast called “The Morning After” and she had Matthew as a special guest the day after the Super Bowl. In sum, he must get his kids to Disney the day after celebrating his victory and he gave a lot of the success to Kupp. I suggest the episode if you love Stafford and have a sense of humor, otherwise, save your 45 minutes.
